How to Print Conversation Cards in Letter or A4
Match the paper, check the scale, then cut only the card sheets.
Download the PDF that matches your paper. Print single-sided, one PDF page per sheet, at Actual size or 100%. Test one page and measure its scale bars before printing the full set. Keep rules and worksheets whole; cut only pages labeled as card sheets.
Choose the matching file and paper.
US Letter is 8.5 by 11 inches; A4 is 210 by 297 mm. The two downloads contain the same activity content with layouts fitted to their own paper size. Select the matching paper in both the print dialog and printer settings.
Use the PDF for card sheets.
The downloadable PDF has fixed page dimensions, cut outlines, and scale checks. Printing the webpage produces a reading copy whose pagination can differ. Our tools also offer a browser print preview; select Letter or A4 there and check the system print preview before saving or printing.
Check scale before printing the whole deck.
Choose Actual size or a custom scale of 100%, with one PDF page per sheet. In Acrobat, Fit changes the scale to the printable area; Actual size keeps the original scale. A printer can still clip content it cannot print, so inspect and measure a test page.
If the scale bar is too short or too long.
Check for Fit, Shrink, multiple pages per sheet, or another scaling option in both the viewer and printer driver. Return to matching paper and 100% for a new test. On our activity rule pages, one bar should measure 1 inch and the other 25 mm.
If an edge or line is missing.
Check that the file and selected paper match. Inspect the PDF on screen, then consult your printer information about printable margins. Do not assume a borderless mode or scaling adjustment preserves card dimensions; measure again after any change.
Cut and keep the right pages.
Cut only card sheets along the thin outlines. Keep facilitator notes, response worksheets, bingo boards, and guide sheets whole unless the page says otherwise. Use single-sided printing; duplex registration and physical printer performance have not been verified.
