A little help for the host.
Most good question games need very little: a willing group, a clear first instruction, and a comfortable way to pass.
Start with the invitation.
Try: “We’ll play for ten minutes. You can answer, listen, or pass. No one needs to explain a pass.” Explain how the activity ends before it starts.
Choose a pace, then a game.
- Two friends: try the best friend quiz for private guesses, or friend tag for shared stories.
- A table of friends: Would You Rather leaves room for reasons; This or That keeps things quick.
- A new group: write-and-share worksheets give people thinking time. Bingo offers optional short conversations.
- A work meeting: use team choices or just one three-minute activity. Move to the agenda at the agreed time.
Make participation flexible.
Offer speaking, quiet thinking, and passing. Keep cameras optional on remote calls. For bingo, offer a seated pair version and use ticks instead of names. Never ask anyone to show a private space, prove a claim, or disclose work information.
Print one test page first.
Use the Letter PDF for US Letter paper, or the A4 PDF for A4 paper. Choose single-sided, Actual size / 100%, with one PDF page per sheet. Card sheets have thin cut lines. Keep the bingo boards and writing sheets whole. No duplex alignment or physical printer test has been completed.
Keep the right things private.
Pass a shared device at the quiz handover screen, not while someone is answering. Clear the round before handing the device to another group. Printed answers belong to their writers; do not collect or photograph them.
Close gently.
Try: “Thanks for joining in. Let’s leave that story there and move on.” Avoid ranking people, turning choices into personality labels, or demanding a final round.
